- First, download the Google Home app from the Google Play or App store, and follow the prompts to set up your new Google Home device.
- Once connected, go to “Settings,” select “Music,” and then tap “Spotify” to set it as your default music service.
- Your Google Home app will ask you to link your Google and Spotify accounts. Have your Spotify username and password handy to start listening even faster.

Note: You need both Spotify and Google Maps installed on your phone.
Just connect Google Maps to Spotify one of these two ways.
While in navigation:

- Tap the bottom of the map screen (where it shows estimated time to destination).
- Select Settings.
- For iPhone/iPad, select Music playback controls.
For Android, select Show media playback controls. - Select Spotify and accept the terms to connect your account.

Or, through Google Maps’ Settings:
- Open Google Maps.
- Open the main menu in the top-left.
- Select the gear icon for Settings.
- Choose Navigation.
- For iPhone/iPad, select Music playback controls.
For Android, select Show media playback controls. - Select Spotify and accept the terms to connect your account.
- Spotify will then be available while in an active navigation session.
Once connected, you’ll find music controls at the bottom of your navigation map. Tap the Spotify logo to browse more playing options.
